Individual Psychological Therapy

At times, life can feel overwhelming, and finding your way forward isn’t always easy — especially when you’re far from home. Whether you’re navigating relationship challenges, managing stress, facing a major life transition, or feeling stuck, therapy offers a safe and supportive space to pause, reflect, and make sense of what’s going on.

Adjusting to life abroad can bring both excitement and complexity. As an expatriate, you may be managing the loss of familiar routines, distance from loved ones, cultural adjustments, or questions about identity and belonging. Having worked in 4 countries, I have both personal and professional experience of both the challenges and opportunities of life as an expat and understand the unique emotional landscape that comes with building a life away from home.

Therapy can offer you the space to make sense of your experiences, strengthen your resilience, and reconnect with what truly matters to you. I offer individual therapy for adults, creating conversations that are both compassionate and practical, helping you to move towards the change you want to see. Together, we will explore and harness your inherent strengths, tackle the obstacles in your path, and guide you toward realizing the fulfilling life you envision and deserve.

My work is grounded in Solution Focused Brief Therapy — a future-oriented, evidence-based approach designed to help you identify your strengths and build on what’s already working, even in difficult times. Rather than focusing solely on problems, our conversations will centre on possibilities, progress, and meaningful change

Common issues that my clients present with in therapy include:
  • Anxiety, stress, or panic attacks
  • Depression or persistent sadness
  • Relationship issues or marital conflicts
  • Trauma or unresolved emotional wounds
  • Grief and loss
  • Life transitions (e.g., career change, divorce)
  • Low self-esteem or self-worth
  • Family dynamics or conflict
  • Anger management issues
  • Suicidal thoughts and / or self harming behaviour
  • Coping with chronic illness or pain
  • Burnout or work-related stress
  • Navigating identity, gender, or sexual orientation
  • Difficulty managing emotions or emotional regulation
  • Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD)
  • Personal growth and self-awareness
  • Coping with abuse (physical, emotional, or sexual)
  • Parenting challenges or family stress

Couples Therapy

Being in a relationship can be deeply rewarding — but even the strongest partnerships face challenges. Differences in values, communication styles, and expectations can sometimes lead to misunderstandings or distance. For intercultural couples, these complexities are often magnified. You may be communicating in a language that isn’t your mother tongue, living far from family and familiar support systems, or navigating the unique experience of raising third culture kids.

I offer couples therapy with a particular focus on supporting intercultural relationships. Our conversations create a safe and respectful space to explore differences, strengthen your connection, and work together toward the kind of relationship you both want. Whether you’re feeling stuck, struggling to reconnect, or simply looking to deepen your understanding of each other, therapy can offer clarity, compassion, and practical ways forward.

Alongside my professional experience, I also bring personal insight. I know first-hand the rewards and challenges of life in an intercultural relationship, raising bilingual children, and living far from family. This combination of personal and professional understanding allows me to offer both empathy and guidance as you navigate your own path.

Couples therapy can also be a valuable support for those facing separation or divorce — helping you part as amicably as possible, and where children are involved, lay the foundation for effective and respectful co-parenting.

I welcome individuals of all genders and sexual orientations, including those in relationships who are exploring or practicing consensual non-monogamy.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long is a session?

Sessions are normally 50 minutes long. Extended sessions of 75 minutes or longer can be arranged if needed.

Where do sessions take place?

I am based in Singapore at A Space Between, #28-14 International Plaza, 10 Anson Road, Singapore, 079903

We can also meet online via zoom or a mixture of in person and online.

How long does therapy take?
Research shows that solution focused therapy is as effective as other models of therapy, but in fewer sessions. However it’s hard to say how many sessions are needed as it depends how quickly you make progress. Unlike some types of therapy, I don’t prescribe a certain number of sessions but will work with you to move towards your goals and feel confident to continue by yourself.
How often do we meet?
Therapy sessions are normally weekly to start with. As you make progress sessions will be spaced out to fortnightly and then monthly.
What times are you available?
All sessions are during weekdays 8am to 6pm (last appointment at 5pm). I don’t work evenings and weekends.
How do I book a session?
You can book a free 25 minute chemistry call by clicking on the button above – this allows us to see if we are a good fit to work together. You can also contact me via the contact page of the website or via jane@pebblepsychology.com if you have any further questions before booking.
How much do sessions cost?

Individual therapy sessions are normally 50 minutes and cost $275. 75 minute sessions can be arranged if needed and cost $337.50.

For couples therapy an initial session is 80 minutes and costs $445. I then meet each person individually for 50 minutes as part of the assessment process before having a joint feedback session to plan what would be helpful. Thereafter couple’s sessions are normally 50 minutes. 50 minute sessions cost $295.

Sessions are payable by pay now, pay lah or by bank transfer.

Do I need a referral?
You do not need a referral and are welcome to contact me directly. If you have a referral letter I will liaise with your referrer as needed and seek your consent before any information is shared.
What if I need to cancel a session?
If you need to cancel a session please contact me as soon as possible, and at least 48 hours before your appointment time. Cancellations within less than 48 hours will incur the full fee for the session. If you are ill with cold and flu symptoms you can change the session to online. If you have an accident, sudden emergency or there are other extenuating circumstances, I will try and be flexible and consider waiving the fees.
Are my sessions confidential?
Confidentiality is very important for building a trusting relationship with your psychologist. All the information shared is kept confidential except if there is a risk of you or someone else getting hurt. There may be times that sharing information with other professionals involved in your care may be helpful to coordinate treatment. However, I would only share this information if you give written permission to do so. Therapy notes are kept in accordance with the Ministry of Health (2015) guidelines for storage of medical data.
